Love and Desire: Pre-Raphaelite Masterpieces from the Tate

In the middle of the nineteenth century, three rebellious painters wanted to challenge the influential work of art masters like Raphael through their art. They call themselves the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood. With their radical ideas to question the established standards of their time, the brotherhood’s influence grew beyond the test of time. Love and Desire showcases more than 100 works from 21 artists with subjects ranging from romance and heartbreak to religion and death.
